80 Chapter Two 1482 To Salom Zamero, of Morvedre,  to go throughout the Kingdom during two weeks to recover debts. 51 1482 To Yucef  Quatorze, of Morvedre, for eight months to collect debts owed to him. 5 2 1486 To Vidal Astori, of Morvedre, for a period of two weeks. 53 1491 To Yucef  Nageri, of Morvedre, to go throughout the Kingdom of Valencia. 5 4 1491 To Salamó  Mirodi, of Játiva, to go throughout the Kingdom of Valencia. 5 5 It should be remembered, moreover, that the sources conserved are incomplete. We find that Castilian Jews predominate in emigrations by sea, and Jews of Morvedre and Játiva in journeys of a commercial nature. THE ALJAMA: AXIS OF T H E INTERNAL ORGANIZATION As in the other territories of the Crown of Aragón, the Jewish communities of the Kingdom of Valencia were organized into aljamas  ( from the Arabic al yamaa) or assemblies for their functioning, 1 provided  that the town was important enough. During the X V century, the only aljamas of the kingdom were — from north to south — those of Castellón de la Plana, Villarreal, Burriana, Morvedre and Játiva. After 1391 those of Morella, Valencia, Alcira, Gandía, Orihuela, Elche and Alicante had disappeared; only small groups of Jews remained in these localities and they did not form aljamas. These aljamas were always organized internally along the lines of the neighbouring Christian townships and had a very similar general internal structure throughout all the Crown of Aragón, based on adelantados, counsellors, clavarios, secretaries, and various minor functionaries ( scribes, sayones, etc.).
