[ 15] Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the manner of genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. [ 16] And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David; and Abijah his son reigned in his stead. 13 In the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah. [ 2] Three years reigned he in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam. [ 3] And Abijah joined battle with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men; and Jeroboam set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, who were mighty men of valour. [ 4] And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill- country of Ephraim, and said: ‘ Hear me, O Jeroboam and all Israel; [ 5] ought ye not to know that the Lord, the God of Israel, gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt? [ 6] Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up, and rebelled against his lord. [ 7] And there were gathered unto him vain men, base fellows that strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and faint- hearted, and could not withstand them. [ 8] And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye are a great multitude, and there are with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods. [ 9] Have ye not driven out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the peoples of other lands? so that whosoever cometh 12 · ÌÈÓȉ È ¯ · „ ÌÈ  ·  ˙ Î 1581 LB ¯ − „ § Ï ¦ Ba ½ Ï ¦ ÆÔÈÎ ¦ ‰ ¥ ‡ ŸÏ ³ Èk ´ ¦ Ú ¯ ® ¨ ‰ ¨ NÚ © − i ©  © 14 ÌÚ ¨ À · § Á © ¯ § È ¯ ´ ¥ · § „ ¦  § 15 Ò :‰  « ¨ ‰ È § - ˙ ‡ ¤ ÌÈ · ¹ ¦ e ˙ k § ̉¥ ¸ - ‡ ŸÏ‰£ ÌÈ  ½ ¦ B ¯ Á © ´ ‡ £ ‰ ¨  § ÆÌÈ  ¦ ŸL‡ ¯ ¦ ‰ ¨ ‰ − ʤ ŸÁ‰ © Bc ¬ Ú ¦  § ‡ È ² · ¦ p ¨ ‰ © ‰ ¯ È ¨ Ú § Ó « © L § È ¯ ¸ ¥ · § „ ¦ a § ÌÚ− ¨ · § ¯ ¨ È ¨  § Ì ² Ú ¨ · § Á © ¯ § ˙ BÓ ¯ Á£ Ï § Ó ¦ e NÁ ® ¥ È © ˙ § ‰ ¦ Ï § ÂÈ ˙ ¨ ½ Ÿ · ‡ £ - ÌÚ ¦ ÆÌÚ ¨ · § Á © ¯ § · ³ k © L § i ¦  © 16 : ÌÈÓ « ¦ i ¨ ‰ © - Ïk ¨ B  − · § ‰ ¬ i ¨ · ¦ ‡ £ CŸÏ ² Ó § i ¦  © „ È ® ¦ c ¨ ¯ ÈÚ ´ ¦ a § ¯ · − ¥ w ¨ i ¦  © Ù : ÂÈz « ¨ Á § z © Ì ® Ú ¨ · § ¯ ¨ È ¨ CϤ n ´ ¤ Ï © ‰ ¯ − ¥ N § Ú¤ ‰ ¬  ¤ BÓL § ˙ ²  © L § a ¦ 13 ÌÈ  À ¦ L ¨ LBÏ ´ L ¨ 2 :‰„ « ¨ e‰ È § - ÏÚ © ‰− i ¨ · ¦ ‡ £ CŸÏ ¬ Ó § i ¦  © - ˙ · © e‰ ¬ È ¨ Î ¨ ÈÓ ¦ Bn ½ ‡ ¦ ÌL ´ ¥  § Ì ¦ Ï © ½ L ¨ e ¯ ´ Èa ¦ ÆCÏ © Ó ¨ ÔÈ ¬ a¥ ‰ ˙ ² ¨ È § ‰ ¨ ‰ Ó ¬ ¨ Á ¨ Ï § Ó ¦ e ‰ ® Ú ¨ · § b ¦ - ÔÓ ¦ χ −¥ È ¯ ¦ e‡ - ˙ ‡ ¤ ‰ i ¨ ¹ · ¦ ‡ £ ¯ ŸÒ ¸ ‡ § i¤  © 3 : ÌÚ « ¨ · § ¯ ¨ È ¨ ÔÈ ¬ · ¥ e ‰− i ¨ · ¦ ‡ £ - Úa © ¯ § ‡ © ‰ Ó ¨ ½ Á ¨ Ï § Ó ¦ È ¯ ´ ¥ Bab ¦ ÆÏÈ ¦ ÁÆ © a § ‰ Ó ¨ À Á ¨ Ï § n ¦ ‰ © ÌÚ ¨ À · § ¯ ¨ È ¨  § Ò ¯ eÁ ® a ¨ Lȇ ´ ¦ ÛϤ −‡ ¤ ˙ B‡ ¬ Ó¥ ÛϤ ‡ ² ¤ ˙ B‡ ¬ Ó¥ ‰  ¤ ¸ BÓL § a ¦ ‰ Ó ¨ ½ Á ¨ Ï § Ó ¦ ÆBnÚ ¦ C ¯ ³ © Ú ¨ Ì ˜ ¨ ´ i ¨  © 4 Ò : ÏÈ ¦ Á « ¨ ¯ Ba ¬ b ¦ ¯ eÁ− a ¨ Lȇ ¬ ¦ ¯ ‰ ´ © a § ¯ L−¤ ‡ £ ÌÈ ¦ ¯ ½ © Ó ¨ ˆ § ¯ ‰ ´ © Ï § ÆÏÚ © Ó¥ ‰ i ¨ À · ¦ ‡ £ - ÏÎ ¨  § Ì ¬ Ú ¨ · § ¯ ¨ È ¨ È  ¦ eÚ− Ó ¨ L § ¯ Ó¤ ‡ Ÿi ¾  © ÌÈ ¦ ¯ ® ¨ Ù § ‡ ¤ | ‰ ´  ¨ ‰ È § Èk º ¦ ˙ Ú © „ ½ © Ï ¨ ÆÌΤ Ï ¨ ‡ ŸÏ ³ ‰ £ 5 : χ « ¥ ¯ ¨ N § È ¦ - ÏÚ © „ È ² ¦ „ ¨ Ï § ‰ ¯ Î ¨ Ï ¨ Ó § Ó © Ô ˙ © ¸  ¨ χ¥ À ¯ ¨ N § È ¦ ȉ ´ ¥ ŸÏ‡ ¡ ˙ È ¯ ¬ ¦ a § ÂÈ−  ¨ · ¨ Ï § e BÏ ¬ Ì ® Ï ¨ BÚÏ § χ−¥ ¯ ¨ N § È ¦ „ · ¤ Ú−¤ Ë · ¨ ½  § - Ôa¤ Ì ´ Ú ¨ · § ¯ ¨ È ¨ ÆÌ ˜ ¨ iÆ ¨  © 6 Ò : ÁÏ © Ó « ¤ : ÂÈ «  ¨ Ÿ„‡£ - ÏÚ © „ Ÿ ¯ − Ó § i ¦  © „ È ® ¦ c ¨ - Ô · ¤ ‰ ŸÓ ´ ŸÏL § ÏÚ © i © ½ Ï ¦ · § È ´  ¥ a § ÆÌÈ ˜ ¦ ¯ ¥ ÌÈL ³ ¦  ¨ ‡ £ ÂÈÏ ¨ À Ú ¨ e ˆ ´ · § w ¨ i ¦  © 7 ‰ ŸÓ ® ŸÏL § - Ôa¤ Ì ´ Ú ¨ · § Á © ¯ § - ÏÚ © e ˆ − n § ‡ © ˙ § i « ¦  © ˜ − f © Á © ˙ § ‰ ¦ ‡ ŸÏ ¬  § · · ¨ ½ Ï¥ - C ¯ ©  § Æ ¯ Ú ©  © Æ ‰ È ¨ ‰ ³ ¨ ÌÚ ¨ À · § Á © ¯ § e ÌÈ ¯ À ¦ Ó § Ÿ‡ « Ìz ´ ¤ ‡ © | ‰ z ´ ¨ Ú ©  § 8 : ̉ « ¤ È  ¥ Ù § Ï ¦ È ´  ¥ a § „− È © a § ‰  ¨ ½ ‰ È § ˙ Τ ´ Ϥ Ó § Ó © ÆÈ  ¥ Ù § Ï ¦ Æ ˜ f¥ Á © ˙ § ‰ ¦ Ï § · ‰ ¨ ½ Ê ¨ È ´ Ï¥ ‚ § Ú¤ ÆÌΤ n ¨ Ú ¦  § · ¯ ½ ¨ ÔBÓ ´ ‰ ¨ ÆÌz¤ ‡ ©  § „ È ® ¦ „ ¨ ‡ ŸÏ ³ ‰ £ 9 : Ìȉ « ¦ ŸÏ‡ Ï¥ ÌÚ− ¨ · § ¯ ¨ È ¨ Ì ² Τ Ï ¨ ‰ N ¬ ¨ Ú ¨ ¯ L¤ ¸ ‡ £ ÔŸ ¯ − ‰£ ‡ © È ¬  ¥ a § - ˙ ‡ ¤ ‰  ¨ ½ ‰ È § È ´  ¥ ‰£ Ÿk- ˙ ‡ ¤ ÆÌz¤ Á § c © ‰ ¦ Èn ´ ¥ Ú © k § ÆÌÈ  ¦ ‰ £ Ÿk Ì ³ Τ Ï ¨ eN ¸ Ú£ z ©  © Ì ® i ¦  ¦ Ï § ‰ ©  §   Book  |  Chapter Home  | TOC
