VAT 13642 (+) 13654, cited by Meier, Maqlu, 26, notes 9 and 18; 27, note 11. 15 For the existence of this rubric, see above, note 12. The restoration of this rubric on the basis of IX 44 seems certain. I remain uneasy, however, because III 77a* / / IX 44 repeats II148 / / IX 33; they thus constitute the only instances in II1 - III 157a where different entries prescribe the use of identical ritual objects. 16 The composite of IX 49- 51 is tentative. While I do not believe that I have conflated readings from different traditions, the witnesses to these lines ( K. 2385 + ..., STT, 1, no. 83, VAT 4103 [ AfO 21 ( 1966), T. 11- 12]) are all broken in a way that does not provide the kind of overlap necessary for excluding the possibility of conflation. For a restoration of the end of the ritual, see Meier, Maqlu, 59: 51.1 do not yet understand portions of this ritual. ( Could dXV be a mistake for XV: imnu / imittu and could kub of kubsi be a dictation mistake for GUB: sumelu [ note, however, that the rubric already has SAGSU]?) 17 Cf. VAT 13642: Meier, Maqlu, 26, note 9:  inimnim- ma uh- bur- ru- da maqur titi 2 salmu ina [ libbi]: ׳ 18 For the broken rubric, see VAT 13654: Meier, Maqlu, 27, note 11. For the restoration of IX 57, see Meier, AfO 21 ( 1966), 80. I am not yet able to confirm this restoration. For the present, I hesitate restoring more than hasabtu suqi erbetti in III 157a. 19 Often the same manner of writing and signs are used in corresponding rubrics and ritual tablet entries. Simply compare published copies. Two examples should suffice: II 181: NU A. ESIR sd IM. BABBARHI. HI / / IX 35: ... NU A. ESIR SD IM. BABBAR HI HI; III 139a: GIS ״ RMA ׳ GURg NIG. LAG. GA 2 NU.
